exploring the possibility of using fog-catchers to provide drinking water to a desert. placed along the ridge of the sand dunes as a continuous vertical fence the fog-catchers are ideally placed to benefit from early morning sea fog which condenses on wire-mesh surfaces and is allowed to drain into storage for desalination. the process of super-hydrophobic condensation is exploited by the Namib fog beetle to collect drinking water by the same method.
